The economic and political crisis in Venezuela seems endless, and things seem to be getting worse every day. Every time I turn on the news and hear of another major blackout that the Venezuelan population have to go through, I shiver. I think about all the elders, the children and the pets.
And of course, I think about Javier Reinoso and his Cat Sanctuary.
He's truly a hero to me. The love he has for his cats just purrs out from every tweet he writes. No matter how hard things can get, he won't fail to make his cat as happy as he can. I am amazed at how he can also be able to share funny tweets and sweet moments with his kitties. I have no idea of how he can manage to sound always so hopeful and never sad. As I said, he's a hero.
So a few days ago I decided to make something specific for him. Something that looks sweet and funny, because I believe only light can be darkness and we have to smile no matter what, as Javier does. So I began sketching and the idea of drawing a cat choir took shape. What's more cheerful than a group of cats who sing?
So I began drawing, painting and sharing every cat's story on Instagram and Facebook.

And here it is!! Finished and ready to be placed...on what? I initially thought of selling a print. But it would have been good for people with children, mostly, and not everyone is a parent. A mug would be more appropriate! It's useful, can be a great gift for cat lovers, and everyone needs a good mug. Also, you don't need to be a child to drink your favorite beverage with it, and adult who kept in touch with his playful side is as perfect, if not even better.
And here it is, Cat's Choir Coffee Mug that will help to feed cats in Venezuela...hoping that this crisis will soon end, and both people and pets in Venezuela will get back to a serene situation.
In the meantime, let's help one mug at a time!
